2nd– 5th grade students

Your child must be registered at the library to attend this program!
To register call the library 845-868-1341

*If you have a library card, please let your child bring it.  Children will be allowed to take home a book.

Gardening in Small Places

Not everyone has a big yard or acres of land to use when planting a garden.  Learn how to create beauty in a small back yard, on a narrow strip aside your walkway or even on your deck or patio.  It just takes planning, choosing the right plants, and attention to some simple principles that also enhance the design or larger gardens.

Enhancing Your Landscape with Native Shrubs

Now that homeowner favorites like Japanese Barberry and Burning Bush have been designated as NYS invasives and have disappeared from nurseries, where do we turn for a new standard of backyard beauty?  Join birds, butterflies and hummingbirds in discovering the value of native shrubs and imagine how much their flowers, fragrance, fruits and fall color will add to your landscape.

Stanford Community Day!

Saturday, September 16  9:00 am – 4:00 pm

(Rain Date Sunday, September 17)

Please be sure and stop at the library booth, located on our new building property.  September is “Library Card Sign up Month”.  Sign up for a library card or show us you current library card and your reward will be a fall fresh juicy apple, compliments of our neighbor, Big Rock Community Farms,  We will have STEM activities and free raffle for the children.  Adults, stop and see a rendition of the new library building and while you’re there sign up for one of our ongoing programs; Watercolor Workshop, Knitting, Mahjong, Brain Games and Thursday Afternoon Movies. Also enter a free raffle.
